Olivenhain Homes for Sale
Olivenhain is a more traditional and old-fashioned neighborhood in North County Coastal, which was founded in the 1890s. German settlers came to the area around this time and built a meeting hall that is still intact today. Olivenhain can be found between the two upper class communities of Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe, and is known for its beautiful homes and elite, small-town atmosphere. Because the community it more rural and less-trafficked, evident in its use of only stop signs and no stop lights, it is a popular and desirable destination for San Diego’s elite.
Residents of Olivenhain enjoy educational opportunities through both the Encinitas Union School District and the San Dieguito Union School District. Beginning at the Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School, public school students then go to Diegueno Junior High School and the La Costa Canyon High School. There are many private and religious schools in or near Olivenhain that are popular choices for Olivenhain families, though the public school system is known to be more than adequate.
Because Olivenhain is a smaller town, residents make the short commute to Encinitas to share in this larger town’s resources and shopping opportunities. Shopping opportunities in Encinitas include the Encinitas Ranch Town Center or the Encinitas Marketplace, which boast a wide assortment of grocery stores, eateries, and other types of shops. Residents also share hot golf spots with their neighbors, Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe, including the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course and the Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe.
Olivenhain residents enjoy exclusive access to one of the community’s relaxing parks, Little Oaks Park, Sun Vista Park, or Wiro Park. There are numerous other recreational opportunities in neighboring towns for residents to take advantage of.
