Marina District Homes for Sale
Bordered by Columbia to the north and the Gaslamp Quarter to the east, the Marina District is the most desirable and one of the priciest parts of Downtown San Diego with its waterfront appeal and beautiful views. The Marina District has grown up from its humble beginnings of warehouses and vacant lots and now holds hotels of all sizes, apartments, condos, offices, and retail locations. As San Diegans have just recently begun to move into this area, there is a new growth of businesses catering to residential needs, including food and other personal services.
Marina District’s most popular attraction is Seaport Village, which sits on San Diego Bay and is a popular food and shopping complex with an abundance of small shops and boutiques, galleries, and eateries. Made up of several buildings with 4 miles of weaving paths that connect them, the complex is a fun place to stroll through for residents and tourists alike. The San Diego Convention Center, which includes more than 600,000 square feet of exhibit space, is at the edge of Marina District. Connecting Marina District to other parts of the city, the San Diego local trolley service is a convenient way to get around.
At the eastern edge of Marina Disctrict lies the Westfield Shoppingtown Horton Plaza, which is a great place to go for a shopping trip or to grab some food before seeing a movie at the theater located inside the mall. Having undergone more than 100 million dollars in renovations, the mall houses Macy’s and Nordstrom, as well as a host of smaller shops and a popular food court.
