Columbia Homes for Sale
West of Core and the Horton District, south of Little Italy, and north of Marina District lies Colombia. Though very business and commercial oriented, this part of town still hosts a lively residential population with its large number of condominium towers that rise high above the community. Colombia is constantly changing and undergoing renovation to enhance the residential and commercial aspect of the already booming area. Current renovation projects include the construction of a Navy Broadway Complex and Embarcadero Circle Cruise Ship Terminal, as well as many more high-rise towers.
Many of Colombia’s resident’s live near their jobs and therefore enjoy the convenience of either walking or riding to work via public transit without having to use their own cars. This area is also conveniently located near many stores and shopping areas including the Westfield Shoppingtown Horton Plaza, which lies only blocks away. This Shoopingtown spans the area of 9 blocks and includes large department stores, smaller boutiques, and a food court that is trafficked by shoppers and local business employees alike.
Among Colombia’s main points of interest is the Santa Fe Depot, which is one of the city’s main railroad stations. The depot crosses the local trolley, the Coaster (rail transportation within San Diego), and Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner tracks. The Pacific Surfliner is a long distance train that provides daily train service up to San Luis Obispo.
Two other points of interest located in Colombia are the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum and the San Diego Maritime Museum, both of which are located on Colombia’s ocean front. Residents enjoy numerous jetties and docks that sprinkle the area and provide spectacular views of the city and ocean.
